Community Engagement
For two consecutive summers, Acadia Dance Festival has been partnering with local organizations to provide the Mount Desert Island community with opportunities to engage closely with dance.
In the week preceding the performances, the festival offers multiple opportunities to engage with dance workshops, classes and artist talk events:
Dance Camp at Camp Beech Cliff: Nimbus Dance teaches a week-long Dance Specialty Camp at Camp Beech Cliff for ages 9-17. Youth camp participants will take classes from Nimbus’ professional company dancers and prepare for a performance at the matinee performance of the Acadia Dance Festival at the Criterion Theatre.
